The battle of the five armies is an interesting part in the series of the Hobbit. First things first azog the pale orc was marching to the smoky mountain's to take all the treasure. But the elves and humans got there first but before them even came a dragon then the humans killed the dragon and then the dwarves came to reclaim what they had lost to the dragon. But the humans and elves wanted there share but the dwarves didn't let them finally an army of dwarves and came led by dain ironfoot the elves came and fought the dwarves. But just as they started Azog's huge orc army big enough to defeat them all arrived and charged down into them. The dwarfs acted first gathering together and created two phalanx's 5 deep the elves were hesitant to help fight with their enemy but they came and also fought. But they retreated and never came back the dwarves lost half of there fighting force but there king under the mountain came otherwise the dwarves that were hiding in the mountain's came and the dwarves united and charged forward. The men fought for there city because another legion of orcs attacked from a different side. When azog finally though he had them the king underneath the mountain came and after a heavy fight he killed azog. His son was also killed by legolas the elf then the eagles came and saved them, from a catastrophic defeat.
