The battle of hasting was a fierce battle the english were poorly equipped and not exactly ready for a fight. But they came anyway led by there king harold. After defeating the second harold he turned his army towards the normans. His brothers all except one of his brother's had betrayed. One remained faithful and true and they together headed for the normans. Each side consisting mainly of infantry though the normans possessed some horses. Though there weren't many horses on the english side as the two forces came together the heavy axe of the English and the heavy sword of the normans started hewing at each other. Very few were wounded almost all were killed with a single blow. Finally william aimed his bowmen high and they slew the king and many of his thanes and noblemen and the battle lasted until night. As the english either tried to flee or where killed
